Sophia Paris

Founder & Curatorial Director

Sophia Paris is a Los Angeles–based curator and the Founder and Curatorial Director of Studio 37, an independent contemporary art platform dedicated to presenting distinctive artistic voices, fostering cultural exchange, and creating meaningful connections through art.

Her curatorial practice is rooted in a deep commitment to art and culture and in the belief that creative expression has the power to connect people across disciplines, backgrounds, and perspectives. She is particularly drawn to artists whose practices engage with cultural memory, identity, place, and personal narrative, developing exhibitions that place their work within a thoughtful contemporary and cultural context.

Through Studio 37, Paris curates exhibitions, represents selected artists, cultivates relationships with collectors and cultural institutions, and creates opportunities for artists to engage with broader audiences. Her approach extends beyond the traditional boundaries of a gallery, positioning Studio 37 as a platform for both artistic development and cultural exchange.

An important part of this vision is Studio 37’s ongoing engagement with its local community. Each month, Paris opens the studio’s doors for music-centered cultural gatherings, bringing together artists, musicians, creatives, neighbors, collectors, and people from across Los Angeles. By allowing visual art and music to exist within the same space, these gatherings encourage connection to happen organically—through shared experience rather than formal introduction.

For Paris, art and culture are not meant to exist at a distance. They are living forms of communication capable of creating dialogue, building relationships, and forming communities. This philosophy is at the heart of Studio 37: a space where contemporary art is presented with intention, while music, conversation, and human connection give the space its broader cultural life.
